China will promote the high quality development of tourism and further tap into consumers’ potential, according to a circular released by the State Council on Sept 29.
More tourism products and services of high quality will be supplied, the circular said, urging the integrated development of culture and tourism, and healthy growth of industries such as drama, music and festivals.
A batch of nation-level tourist cities and regions with obvious cultural characters will be created, and model projects for sports tourism will be explored.
To stimulate people’s demands, the circular encouraged the orderly development of nightlife economy, and improvement in transportation services.
The circular called for upgraded policies concerning visas, customs and exit tax refunds, and recovery and increase on the number of international flights to attract more inbound tourism.
Financing channels will be expanded to provide support for the construction and operation of tourism facilities, with security supervision also being strengthened, the circular added.
